Shelly Corbett

I wasn't sure whether I would want to link to Shelly Corbett. In the end, I decided to do it because her work is interesting enough. Her statements starts with "I grew up in America: Catholic, white and middle class. Repressed." and that makes it really not too hard to guess what the photos are about. They are amazingly well done - nudes underwater, with lots and lots of colours, but always on the verge (or slightly beyond) the kitschy. If I knew more about art history I'd say that some of the photos have a certain art-nouveau style.
