There's no fine line between photography and digital art (hey, art citics and theoreticians want to make a living, too!). Is Dunja Evers's work photography or digital art? I always want to believe it doesn't matter. But it does matter: Photography purists are still whining about how this kind of photography is not real photography, and the general public is still mostly unaware of what it means to accept photography as an art form. In that sense, it is important that boundaries are being shifted - lest we end up in a world where only b/w photo-calendar kitsch a la Ansel Adams is considered to be art.
