Thanks for this Joerg - the facadism of the new China is quite multi-layered. It's interesting how China is reinventing itself (and being reinvented) through visual imagery - and in that respect, Sze's work is not just a documentation of the loss of community, history and memory, but also a documentation of the progress and development of Beijing into a world class city.
