Kevin Bauman

I said a while ago that I was a bit tired of typologies, but for every rule there is an exception. So if you like your houses abandoned Kevin Bauman's 100 Abandoned Houses is where you want to go. Such a series won't look nearly as interesting for all those McMansions that are now being foreclosed - what with those big boxes all looking the same.

This, btw, might pose an interesting problem for people interested in science fiction: In the future, things are always supposed to somehow look cool, even if they're totally dilapidated; so abandoned "exurbs" - or whatever they're called - will introduce a new dimension to science fiction: the unbelievably boring future. Of course, fans of Philip K. Dick's work already know the idea of the future being mind numbingly boring. (Thanks, for the link, Joseph Z.!)
